Artistic Chaos by Maxine Green

"Artmas me!" - Sign up via email to me (at) 8x3.me!

Thanks to two wonderful anonymous benefactors, I shall be brightening this winter season by giving away 25 brightly coloured pieces of rainbow art, starting on December 1st and culminating on the 25th of the month, which obviously is Charles Darwin's birthday.

If you've been following me on Facebook you may be aware that I gave away a lot of small pieces of art last year, thanks to two separate anonymous benefactors. These anonymous fountains of generosity have offered to cover art materials and postage so that I can make gifts of my artwork to a chosen number of people who join my seasonal giveaway. Purely for the sake of bringing joy to a few lives. And this time it's open to folks who aren't on Facebook, too!

Because I am not a christmassy sort of person, the theme of this giveaway will be aggressively rainbow. Examples of what you might get could include any of these pieces, or I may decide to make something completely new, just for the heck of it!

Many small rainbow pieces of artwork. Many small rainbow pieces of artwork. Many small rainbow pieces of artwork. Many small rainbow pieces of artwork.

The rules:

The only requirement to sign up is either making a comment on my pinned post on Facebook using the words 'Artmas me!', or send an email to me (at) 8x3.me with the words 'Artmas me!' in the title. I will number comments and emails as they come in, between now and the 24th of December, and a random number generator will be used to pick which ones will receive an art surprise. I will be picking one number at random per day from the 1st until the 25th of December. The observant amongst you will realise that gives you a better chance of being picked if you enter before the start of December, but as the draw is random, it is also possible to enter on the 24th and still get picked - you just have to be super lucky!

Last entry will be at midnight UK time on the 24th of December.

The art sent will also be chosen at random. It might be in the form of button badges, tiny canvases as in the pictures, or it might be something larger and more intricate, as fits the artist's whim (though I will try to pick something I think you'll like!). You won't know exactly what it is until it arrives at your choice of address. If you like it, please do share pictures!

The theme of the art will be 'rainbow', but the artist reserves the right to be an embodiment of chaos.

Obviously winning commenters will need to give me an address to post artwork to. This won't be used for any other purpose than mailing artwork, and won't be digitally stored.

Health issues allowing, I will try to send all of the art out within the next eight weeks after numbers are picked. (I'll do my best to send as much as possible before xmas, but given that I'm chronically ill and my fiancee has cancer, I'm leaving room for unforeseen circumstances!)

Comment or email to maybe receive a gift of random art! 💝

Maxine Green is a queer bunny-ear-wearing disabled artist and chaos entity living in Wales and generally stumbling about the universe in the hope of making a few people happy.

A badge on which the words 'Chaos Entity' are written in gothic style script.

Also known as Bunny, it pleases him/her/it/them to create random pieces of art to mostly give away, thanks to the assistance of a couple of kind anonymous donors.

A selection of colourful badges with various, mostly image-based designs.

Much of 2024's artistic output has been in the form of these colourful hand drawn 'doodle' badges on a wood base coated with resin, most of which have been gifted for free, swapped in art exchanges, or offered in exchange for art materials to make more badges. I remain open to requests and craft exchanges.

A four by four layout of badges with a cute frog and the word 'forg' written above, deliberately spelt wrong.

These 'Forg' badges are among the more popular badge designs, and nobody has yet been able to explain why.

The bunny has given away many small artworks similar to these on Facebook. Check out the contact page to follow!

Other arts and crafts include making tiny hats, painting rocks, decorating 3d printed puns, making great big paintings and tiny comic strips, and finding new and sparkly ways to misuse nail art products.

A toad, painted in a mix of sparkling and metallic colours, sits on top of a red and gold painted missile.

Say hello to the Missile Toad. A christmas novelty 3d printed by my girlfriend and painted by myself. The cool moving effect on the eyes comes from using magnetic pigments in resin to make what is basically a hand-painted hologram.
